Roubaix pave on the Tour de France

Today the Tour takes a route over the Paris-Roubaix course.  They actually ride the P-R route backwards, going through Roubaix early in the route and then heading south doing all the pave sections in reverse.

The first section they hit is the notorious Carrefore de l'Arbre which is a very rough section - here's the boys from the Paris-Roubaix trip on a reconnoiter of this section in April:

It's consistently rough - big gaps between the stones - and some parts appear to to random cobbles thrown down on the ground any old way.  It's the only 5 star (*****) section the Tour faces, here's all the sections for today:

9 - 87km - Gruson au Carrefour de l'Arbre *****
8 - 103.5km - Ennevelin a Pont-Thibault ***
7 - 110km - Mons-en-Pevele ***
6 - 114.5km - Bersee ***
5 - 125km - Orchies a Beury-la-Foret ***
4 - 131km - Sars-et-Rosieres a Tilloy-les-Marchiennes ***
3 - 135km - Brillon a Warlaing ***
2 - 140km - Wandignies-Hamage a Hornaing ****
1 - 149km - Helesmes a Wallers ****
